AND abundant life in Christ for herself!
Cara’s* life was turned upside down when she found out she was pregnant, and all of her plans came to a screeching halt. Only in her 20s, she wanted to establish her career and get married first. Cara truly believed that an abortion was the only way she’d ever be able to move on with her life, so she decided to make an appointment at the nearest clinic she thought could help her.
The idea of having an abortion made Cara feel a little uneasy. Although she described herself as a believer, she couldn’t really say for sure that she knew what it meant to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Cara believed Jesus to be the Son of God, but she’d never had taken that next step to fully give heart to Him. But, even now, she felt like the Lord was working on her heart and the things she’d learned as a child were beginning to convict her heart.Cara wanted a second opinion, but she had no idea where to turn. She didn’t have a home church to go talk to somebody; she wasn’t sure who to trust. This was too personal. Cara decided to look online for somewhere to turn, and that’s where she found an ad for Pregnancy Decision Line, Care Net’s national hotline. She decided to give it a call.
Cara was overwhelmed by the compassion and comfort the voice on the other side of the phone offered her. She didn’t know what she’d expected, but she received so much more. Her hotline coach was so encouraging as she shared the Gospel with her and gave her realistic alternatives to abortion. which not only led to her choosing life for her baby, but wholeheartedly choosing Jesus as her Lord and Savior.
After she hung up with the coach, she called the abortion clinic to cancel her appointment, which was scheduled for the next day, and her coach helped her make an appointment with her local pregnancy center to find the life-affirming help she really wanted. Praise God!
