Steps to Opening a Pregnancy Center

1. Pray
2. Contact the Care Net Director of New Center Development at 205.279.7909 for a free informational packet 
3. Complete the Needs Assessment Survey provided in the packet
4. Build a strong core group that serves as a steering committee for the pregnancy center
5. Complete the Community Resource Survey to produce a community profile of resources for the pregnancy center
6. Strategically choose name for center (assistance available through Care Net) 
7. Incorporate the pregnancy center and apply for tax exempt status
8. Elect a board of directors 
9. Begin to raise funds
10. Make presentations in churches and community groups
11. Hire a director to implement board policies and manage the center
12. Strategically choose a facility to house the pregnancy center (location advice available from Care Net)
13. Apply for Care Net affiliation
14. Host a Care Net Volunteer Training to equip volunteers to provide the basic services of the pregnancy center
15. Open the center!
