A Dozen Emotions, One Truth

Written by Roland C Warren | Oct 7, 2020 9:00:00 AM

Have you ever experienced something that makes you feel a dozen different emotions at once? Sadness, excitement, joy, disappointment, hope… all of them at the same time?

Well, that’s exactly what I go through when I hear the calls that come into our Pregnancy Decision Line.

I feel sad when I hear the desperation in the voices of the women who call us thinking that abortion is their only way out of an unplanned pregnancy. I feel disappointed when I hear how badly our culture has failed our young women and men by lying to them about their worth and the worth of their unborn children whose lives hang in the balance. But I feel joy when I hear our coaches — often the first voices of love and reason our callers hear — tell them that they are valued and loved. I feel excitement when our callers declare they are no longer considering abortion. And I feel a great amount of hope when I hear our coaches share the Gospel and our callers accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

We get a wide variety of calls, from women and men of all walks of life. Married women who feel they can’t afford another baby. Single men who desperately want to be dads but whose girlfriends want abortions. Young women who fear or experience coercion or abuse from their boyfriends if their pregnancies are discovered. The list goes on.

This is why you are so important. Your prayers and financial gifts provide an amazing team of coaches (Brie, Carla, Rebecca, and others) with the training, support, and guidance they need to take all of these diverse calls and share one common truth — every unborn child is a precious gift from Almighty God, and every mother and father has infinite worth because they and their children are made in the image of God.

You make these conversations possible. This is the hope that you inject into the lives of thousands of women and men every year. So, let’s keep those calls coming in! Let’s keep all of those emotions flowing. Because, at the end of it all, is HOPE.

Vision Statement:
