It was a Thursday when Minta* called the Pregnancy Decision Line (PDL). Like so many facing pregnancy decisions, Minta felt alone, desperate, and that abortion was her only option. Hesitantly, she asked for the cost of an abortion.

Every day, clients call PDL for information. Because of your support, dedicated pregnancy decision coaches are waiting to offer compassion, understanding, and life-saving information to women and men in need.

Although she felt like she needed an abortion, Minta was still upset to even be thinking about it. As a Christian, she knew abortion was wrong and refused an ultrasound for fear she wouldn’t be able to follow through with her plan to abort after seeing her child.

On the call, PDL coach offered Minta a safe environment to talk and process her feelings. She prayed God would give this mother hope in a seemingly hopeless circumstance. She then encouraged Minta to trust God, talk to her family, and take the weekend to consider her plan.

On Monday, Minta called back and she sounded completely different!

She had told her mother and her sister about her pregnancy, and they offered her the support she needed to keep the baby. She said that after she prayed with our pregnancy decision coach, she knew God would sustain her if she trusted in Him. 

PDL coaches know that they do not have the power to help women choose life. But women connected to God’s love and His community will find themselves empowered to face difficult circumstances like an unexpected—or unexpectedly complicated—pregnancy.
