The most rewarding part of my job are the stories tucked away inside the blog posts I edit. I love to read about individuals growing spiritually or emotionally; these posts are such an encouragement to me.
I know it’s cliche, but I love Romans 8:28. It is a reminder that God is in control of my circumstances, and that even the difficult things are producing good fruit in my life.
I grew up in Concord, NH. In New Hampshire, we take our ice cream very seriously. "Frozen Dairy Dessert" is not ice cream and never will be. I also drink iced coffee year-round, even if it's negative fifteen degrees outside.
When I was four years old, my parents tried to teach me how to water ski. They tossed me into the water, glided a couple skis across to me, and threw me the rope, shouting various instructions as they did so. They actually thought there was a chance I would get up when my dad hit the gas. It took me seven years to learn how.
So Brave, Young, and Handsome, by Leif Enger. I have never felt as calm as I did while I was reading this book.
