I love equipping centers to become more effective so they can empower more women and couples to choose without regret.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

I love helping our network become more effective so they can empower more women and couples to choose without regret. Combining more than a decade of local pregnancy center experience with expertise in messaging, public policy, and risk mitigation to help our affiliates advance our shared mission is a daily joy - not to mention an opportunity to meet some of the best people in the world!

What is your favorite Bible verse/book/chapter/section? Why?

Living this wondrous story by faith:

  • God shared everything possible of the divine nature with humanity, designing us for relationships full of purposeful peace. Genesis 1:27, 28a

  • Our first parents made disastrous choices, but in mercy God sent perfect Love to walk with us. Romans 5:18-19

  • Redemption is disaster-recovery and pure delight: anyone who really wants to can be re-made to become who we were always intended to be. 2 Corinthians 3:17-18

  • We are redeemed to share a message of reconciliation with others and to be agents of God's restorative power in the world by doing justice, loving mercy, and walking humbly with our God. 2 Corinthians 5:11-21; Micah 6:8

Where are you from? Where did you grow up?

I am a devoted denizen of the Commonwealth of Virginia, the Old Dominion, mother of states and presidents.

What are your hobbies?

The things that bring me joy and peace include:

  • curling up with a blanket and my latest book (historical fiction, biographies, suspense, mysteries, science fiction, practical theology, and are all on my list -- not necessarily in that order),
  • walking our dogs (sweet Emmie and spunky Nicki), and
  • engaging in community life, where I try to apply the principles of Jeremiah 29:5-7 and work for the peace and prosperity of the place where God has called me as a sojourner.
Time for hobbies is limited; however, as I try to balance (is there such a thing?) my meaningful role at work with my meaningful role as second mom to three siblings whom Ryan and I adopted in November of 2019. We went from no children to foster parenting and then adopting our two teen daughters and 7 year old son. It's been the greatest challenge of my life... and also the greatest joy.

What is something people don't know about you?

Shhhh... don't tell anyone, but I was actually born in California.
