Now that I have your attention. . .  please let me explain.

I am not pro-life anymore; I am pro abundant life.

In the nearly 4 years I’ve been here at Care Net, God has pressed upon my heart that saving a baby from abortion is just the beginning of our work.

As followers of Christ, we have a greater calling to not only protect life, but to promote the abundant life Christ desires for all of us (John 10:10).

So, what does it mean to be pro abundant life? Here is a pledge I would like you to sit down with your family to make:

The Gospel: As pro abundant life people, we will celebrate and encourage efforts to help mothers and fathers making pregnancy decisions come to transformative relationships with Jesus Christ.  

Marriage: As pro abundant life people, we will celebrate and encourage marriage, whenever possible for those facing unplanned pregnancies, as the ideal environment to raise thriving children.

Fatherhood: As pro abundant life people, we will celebrate and encourage father involvement during pregnancy decisions and throughout the lives of the children who need them.  

Overturning Roe v Wade in our hearts: As pro abundant life people, we will minister to women and men facing pregnancy decisions, open our hearts to all of God's children, and dedicate ourselves to eliminating the desire for abortion, regardless of what the law says.

Will you take this pledge with me? I believe that we can motivate our families, churches, communities, and our whole nation to make the shift from “just” pro-life to pro abundant life. By pursuing with our whole hearts ABUNDANT life, we will see significant progress in ending abortion, spreading the Gospel, and building strong families, all for God’s glory.

But it starts with us. Amen?
