Romans 8:1-2: "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death."
I love puzzles, so anything that involves placing pieces together for a big picture is right up my alley! I love knowing that the conference big picture might make the difference for someone who might be struggling, and who might end up staying in their position at a center to fight the good fight because they received the encouragement they needed.
I always end up going back to Romans 8:1-2: "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death." The fact that I don't deserve His freedom and grace, yet He gives it to me anyway -- that's something I don't ever want to take for granted. But even when I fall (often), I can rest in His love and grace, knowing that while He will convict, He will never condemn.
When I was pro-choice, I didn't really know what abortion was. And then I heard someone explain the procedure and I was utterly devastated. At that moment, I connected my faith with my beliefs. So, while I am very compassionate toward people with pro-choice views because I used to be in their very shoes, the fact that God is the author of all life is IT for me. He doesn't make mistakes.
I am originally from Selma, Alabama, and have spent most of my life there. I have such a passion for seeing Selma thrive, and am still very involved with some wonderful things going on there. I spent my college days at the University of Alabama (fun fact: I grew up as an Auburn fan -- WAR EAGLE), and then spent a short time in New York City trying to break into the acting business. I've lived in some fun places, but the most fun I ever have is wherever my husband and son are.
Making up songs -- in fact, there is always a musical going on in my head. I also love to sing, dance, and pretty much do anythign my son wants to do. I don't know where he gets his active imagination.
Why, Linda Karen, of course. If you haven't met her, then that's the very reason you should come to our conference next year.
