Mamie Edmonston

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

I've always been Pro-Life, and I have always loved communications and social media. This job is the best of both worlds!

What is your favorite Bible verse/book/chapter/section? Why?

Psalms. It is so comforting and yet challenging at the same time. There is literally a Psalm for every situation, it's so comforting to be able to read one and instantly start praising God.

Do you have any weird phobias?

I'm paranoid of being too over dressed or too underdressed for any given situation. I can feel people judging me with their eyes.

Do you have any quirky nightly rituals?

Even though my alarms are set to ring every weekday, I can't sleep unless I've double-triple checked that they are still on. I also HAVE to have a fan blowing on me, even if it is the dead of winter.

Why are you pro life?

So many reasons. I believe life begins at conception and that every single life has worth and value. To quote Dr. Suess, "a person is a person no matter how small." Life is such a gift.

What are you hobbies?

Knitting (I am an old lady at heart), drinking black tea, cheering for the Green Bay Packers, and listening to audiobooks with my husband.

Where are you from? Where did you grow up?

I grew up partially in northern KY (just across the river from Cincinnati) but mostly in a small town in MS. However, I don't say "y'all" and don't consider myself a southerner.

Who is your favorite fictional character and why?

Elinor Dashwood from Sense and Sensibility. She has a firm head on her shoulders and everyone trusts her and takes her into their confidence.

Who is your pro-life hero or role model?

Dietrich Bonhoeffer. He worked tirelessly in whatever way he could to bring down a regime that was destroying human life. He also worked to keep the church in Germany alive to the truth of the gospel.

What is something people don't know about you?

I have a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Don't get on my bad side.

What is your favorite book (other than the Bible!)?

Can I say a series? The Little House on the Prairie series influenced me heavily in my younger years and still holds a special place in my heart today. All the covers have fallen off of my personal set.
