Care Net -- a nonprofit organization that supports one of the largest networks of life-affirming pregnancy centers and runs the only real-time call center providing pregnancy decision coaching -- will host a free reception directly following the March for Life at the nearby Capitol Hill Hotel.
The reception is an opportunity for marchers to get out of the cold and network with fellow pro-lifers as Care Net celebrates its 40th anniversary.

SIERRA VISTA — After serving 27 years as executive director of a local pregnancy center, Adèle Schloemer will be stepping down from the position.The announcement was made during the Care Net Pregnancy Center of Cochise County annual banquet earlier in November where Schloemer was presented with a plaque for her years with the faith-based, non-profit organization. Dedicated to helping women and couples who are faced with an unplanned pregnancy, the Cochise County center will be celebrating its diamond anniversary in 2015. As part of a national affiliate, the Care Net ministry provides a list of free counseling and support services in a confidential environment.

Lansdowne, VA- Care Net, in partnership with Regent University, has awarded a four-year scholarship to Christina Oien, a single parent nominated for the scholarship by Legacy Pregnancy Center, a Care Net affiliate in Sheridan, Wyoming, where she receives support services.Regent University, a leading university offering education rooted in a Christian-perspective, has partnered with Care Net, a nonprofit organization that supports the nation’s largest network of pregnancy centers, for the last four years to offer scholarships to clients who have been served by one of Care Net’s 1,180 affiliated centers.

"Katelyn Losinger, now 27, faced the “sheer terror” of unplanned pregnancy her sophomore year at Pennsylvania State University.
“I didn’t want to drop out, I loved college. I felt trapped, like I had nowhere to go,” the mother of three said.
While abortion crossed Losinger’s mind, it was the “very last thing” she wanted. She sought help from the local faith-based Pregnancy Resource Clinic, which she called “the most amazing place.”"

As we contemplate the real, spiritual dilemma that brought Hobby Lobby and Conestoga Wood Specialties to a showdown here at the nation’s highest court, I am reminded just how fitting it is that Jesus was a carpenter. When Jesus planed a lintel or turned a chair leg, he didn’t have to worry about whether the person who entered the resulting doorway or sat on the completed chair would be a priest or a pauper. The very act of carpentry was no less “God’s work” than was giving hearing to the deaf or sight to the blind.
