Care Net's Roland Warren Praises House Passage of Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act
Warren noted:
"Last night the United States House of Representatives took a significant step towards protecting the most vulnerable among us. In passing the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, the men and women of the House rejected the abortion on demand policies that place the United States in the company of China and North Korea - countries where innocent human life can be destroyed any time before birth - for any reason at all. Our shared humanity demands that we end the painful dismemberment of unborn babies in the womb - babies that would receive the best care in the world if they were born at the same age. We call on the Senate to quickly consider and pass this legislation, which has the support of more than 60% of Americans."
H.R. 1797 passed by a vote of 228-196. This legislation represents the first significant attempt to restrict late term abortion nationwide since the passage of the partial-birth abortion ban in 2003.
