Governor's Proclamation Honors Nebraska Pregnancy Centers

Volunteer powered non-profits empower those facing unplanned pregnancies

March 7, 2014

Lansdowne, VA - Care Net applauds Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman for yesterday signing a proclamation honoring pregnancy centers for their work.  In a statement today, Roland Warren, President & CEO of Care Net thanked pregnancy centers for their dedication to building strong families:

“Caring, volunteer-powered organizations like Nebraska's pregnancy centers enrich their local communities, providing quality services that empower women and strengthen families, all without charge,” said Roland Warren, President & CEO of Care Net. “We are pleased to see pregnancy centers receive this recognition from the Governor of Nebraska.”

"Care Net thanks the members of the Nebraska Pro-Life Network for coming alongside pregnancy centers to assist in their work and to recognize their positive contributions to the cornhusker state," Warren added.

Twelve pregnancy centers in Nebraska adhere to the movement wide Commitment of Care and Competence, including seven Care Net affiliated centers. Last year, more than 300 volunteers helped Nebraska pregnancy centers serve more than 15,000 women and men. Center services include pregnancy option education, after abortion care, pregnancy tests, limited medical services delivered by professionals, life skills and parenting education, material assistance (including diapers, clothing, cribs, and car seats), and sexual integrity education for students.

Care Net is working to build a culture where women and families thrive, and every woman has the support she needs to choose abundant life for herself and her child. Last year, Care Net’s faith-based pregnancy centers served hundreds of thousands of women and men in their communities, providing valuable services free of charge in a non-judgmental environment. Care Net pregnancy centers have been honored by numerous states and, in 2008, by the White House for their service to our country.
