Looking at the current state of our culture, Care Net is thankful to God for His leading. We're in awe of how He’s helped us align Care Net's programs with our nation's needs in order to save lives.

The prayers and generosity of our donors are saving unborn babies’ lives every day through four key strategies that directly address the most pressing challenges in the fight to end abortion.

Strategy 1: Emergency Care

The challenge: The federal government has announced its plans to fund a national abortion hotline that directs callers to abortion clinics.

The solution: Care Net’s hotline provides compassion, hope, and help to women and men actively considering abortion, ensuring they have all the resources necessary to choose life for their unborn children.

Did you know that  a woman facing an unexpected pregnancy only takes 9 days between confirming her pregnancy and acting on any idea she may have about abortion? And that brief window is growing shorter all the time because of the increasing marketing and use of the abortion pill. This urgency compels us to reach out to her before the abortion industry does.

In today's digital age, when a woman learns about an unexpected (or unexpectedly complicated) pregnancy, her first instinct is to scour the internet for guidance. To ensure that she finds our life-affirming assistance in her moment of need, Care Net operates a national hotline with a cutting-edge website and targeted advertising. When she dials our hotline, a kind and supportive coach answers her call and provides her with the hope, compassion, and Christ-like guidance she needs to choose life for her unborn child and experience an abundant life for her family. We also refer her to a local pregnancy center where she can receive ongoing emotional, spiritual, and practical support right in her own community.

But can you believe the White House’s recently announced plan to launch a federally funded "abortion referral hotline"? This will directly compete with the life-affirming assistance Care Net provides. Instead of receiving hope and help, women — often scared and only thinking about how to get back to “normal” as quickly as possible — will call the federal abortion hotline to ask for an abortion and simply be directed to abortion providers. No mention of pregnancy centers unless she specifically asks for it, and they definitely won’t be discussing the sanctity of human life. There will be nothing to help slow them down and assure them that they don’t need to panic. No help to think through ALL of their options before they make a decision that could haunt them for the rest of their lives.

As Care Net receives no government funding, our donors ensure our national hotline receives the necessary funding to outcompete the federal government's hotline, guaranteeing that well-trained coaches are ready to answer the calls of women and men in desperate need of help.

Strategy 2: Short Term Care

The challenge: Abortion clinics continue to receive federal funding, while legislators across the country attack any alternative to abortion, especially life-affirming pregnancy centers.

The solution: Care Net provides support — through training and resources — to a network of more than 1,200 pregnancy centers. These centers serve as lifelines for women and men in their communities, offering the life-affirming help they truly deserve.

Care Net offers women and men at risk for abortion through our extensive network of over 1,200 life-affirming pregnancy centers. These pregnancy centers are on the frontlines of the fight for life, delivering compassion, hope, and help to women and men actively considering abortion. In the past year alone, these community-based organizations have provided over $96 million worth of free counseling, ultrasounds, pregnancy tests, parenting classes, and many other essential services to more than 300,000 individuals.

This network of centers has saved over 1 million precious babies’ lives from abortion! Additionally, they’ve shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ with over 2.1 million parents! These remarkable individuals are truly living out the Great Commandment in communities across the country every single day.

Despite this incredible work, the abortion industry and its vocal allies will stop at nothing to attack and discredit pregnancy centers. Care Net empowers pregnancy centers by providing them with:

• Necessary resources and support so they can serve their communities with excellence, day in and day out.
• Cutting-edge professional education program that offers professional development, education, and training that is specially tailored for frontline workers serving in pregnancy centers nationwide.
• A national conference where pregnancy center staff and volunteers can receive the education and spiritual rejuvenation they need to continue this transformative work.

Strategy 3: Long Term Care

The challenge: More and more Christian denominations and churchgoers identify as pro-choice. Unfortunately, only a very small percentage of American churches have ministries in place to support women and men at risk for abortion.

The solution: Our church engagement initiative provides training to clergy and their congregations so their churches can effectively reach and serve individuals at risk for abortion within their own communities and partner successfully with local pregnancy centers to save more lives.

Care Net believes caring for someone who is abortion-minded goes through multiple stages beyond the initial decision when parents choose life for their baby.

The Church is God’s instrument to make disciples and tend to the physical and spiritual needs of His people. This mission extends to the women and men we serve who are at risk of choosing abortion. They deserve the opportunity to become disciples of Jesus Christ, too! Therefore, the Church must provide them with long-term care and guidance so they not only choose life, but also experience the abundant life found only in Christ. 

That’s why, in 2016, Care Net launched its Church Engagement Initiative to empower local churches to offer compassion, hope, help, and discipleship to individuals considering abortion in their own congregations and communities.

Regrettably, in recent years, we’ve witnessed a growing number of churchgoing Christians, and even entire denominations, express support for abortion. And statistics reveal that at least half of all abortions are performed by women who consider themselves to be Christians.

It’s never been more crucial for the Church to address this issue with wisdom and compassion. We must remove the log from our own eyes. Care Net provides churches with:

• The training and resources they need to care for women and men facing unplanned pregnancies, and then provide them with the long-term discipleship they need to find abundant life in Christ.
• Access to strategic events designed to equip churches for pro-life ministry 
• Access to Care Net's extensive network of 1,200 pregnancy centers

Since 2015, we have already provided training materials to over 5,000 churches. However, there are still tens of thousands more that we need to reach. 

Strategy 4: Culture Change

The challenge: Pro-life ballot initiatives are failing across the country, even in states that claim to be pro-life. Our culture is becoming increasingly uninformed about the devastating impact of abortion on women, men, and the unborn.

The solution: Care Net provides free eBooks, courses, and resources to equip pro-life individuals to take action and combat the pro-choice falsehoods spreading throughout our nation.

Since Roe v. Wade was overturned in June 2022, there has been an alarming increase in Christians, and even entire Christian denominations, voicing their support for abortion. While this is disheartening, it is not surprising, considering that more than half of the women who undergo abortions identify as Catholic or Protestant.

In essence, the Church needs to change the way it addresses this issue. Care Net's public education efforts have always aimed to ensure that everyone understands the value of human life and the importance of protecting it. However, we’ve recently intensified our efforts to help Christians gain a deeper understanding of why the fight for life is crucial. 

Care Net’s public education efforts include: 

• Producing and distributing free eBooks and online courses to empower Christians and non-Christians alike with knowledge that strengthens their resolve to fight for life. More than 110,000 individuals have accessed these resources.
• Distributing pledges to educate and engage pro-life people about the key issues we face and how we can all get involved. More than 260,000 people have signed a pro-life pledge on our website.
• Ensuring that people have access to the new eBook about the Biblical case for life, enabling them to have transformative conversations with pro-choice Christians in their families, churches, and communities. It is pivotal for the Church to develop a solid understanding of God's heart for life, starting with pro-choice Christians.

Care Net is working to spread the message of Pro Abundant Life far and wide on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter). Furthermore, we,re collaborating with Moody Radio and other Christian media platforms in 2024 to further enhance our educational endeavors with churches that need to address this issue more effectively.
