As a mother, I consider it a huge privilege to be able to work in a ministry that directly impacts the lives of mothers and their children. I can think of no greater blessing than working to better the lives of families, when my family is my favorite part of my life.
Jeremiah 29:11. I lost my mother when I was 15 to colon cancer. Throughout her illness, she recited this verse to us daily, reminding us that no matter the outcome, this was part of His plan, and that ultimately He would provide. The verse reminds me daily that God's love carries us through any storm.
I am terrified of the big, black, flying roaches. In Texas, people call them water bugs. They're still roaches and I still hate them.
The nights I get my kiddos to sleep at a reasonable time, I always end up taking advantage of the extra time and binging whatever show my husband and I are watching.
I had an unplanned pregnancy when I was 20. When I get the opportunity to serve a client, I'm immediately reminded of the struggle she is facing and all of the obstacles that could leader her to consider abortion. But when I look at my daughter (now almost 8) I am reminded how strong these women are and how they can overcome with the right tools and support. This personal history makes me incredibly passionate to serve.
I grew up in East Texas. I'm the oldest of four kids and the only girl.
I'm in full on "mom mode" these days with a house full of little girls so my free time is limited. When I do get a few minutes to myself, I usually like to read.
